The AB Series is engineered for water-cooled aftercooling of hot compressed air or gas. Hot process flow passes through the aftercooler while cooling water absorbs the heat, reducing the discharge temperature before the air enters moisture separation, drying, filtration, storage, or distribution equipment. The compact shell-and-tube construction makes the series well suited for compressor packages, replacement installations, and industrial cooling systems where reliable performance and low pressure drop are priorities.
Correct AB Series selection depends on more than compressor horsepower alone. For an accurate recommendation, identify the compressor type, actual airflow, maximum air or gas inlet temperature, operating pressure, cooling-water inlet temperature, available water flow, allowable pressure drop, connection requirements, and the desired compressed-air outlet temperature.
Typical AB Series Uses: Aftercooling for rotary screw compressors, two-stage reciprocating compressors, packaged compressed-air systems, industrial gas cooling, and replacement of existing water-cooled shell-and-tube aftercoolers.
When requesting a quote, provide the compressor manufacturer and model, compressor horsepower, SCFM, discharge temperature, operating pressure, cooling-water temperature and flow, and connection preferences. Engineering review is recommended whenever operating conditions approach the unit's maximum pressure or temperature rating, when cooling fluid quality is a concern, or when the application involves a gas other than compressed air.
